My sassy child

Last night we took a regular trip to target with intentions to purchase some more child safety locks for our utensil drawer but instead was sidetracked once again and ended up looking at the DVD's and books. Let me give you a little update about what's been going on in our home this past week... My daughter is just about 18months old and discovered the movie Lion King. She is absolutely obsessed. The first thing she says when she opens her eyes is "LION KING" and its been going on all week. Simba this Nala that. I was actually surprised she even had the attention span to get through the movie at this age. For all you Mother's thinking to yourself I am horrible for letting her watch TV all day...don't worry she doesn't. She has limits we stick to. Anyway back to Target. So we are strolling the isles and she sees a Madagascar dvd. OMG you would have thought it was Christmas. She stated clapping her hands and talking/babbling so fast spit was flying from her mouth. People were literally popping around the isle to see what was going on. So I give in and handed her the DVD. She immediately points to Alex (the lion) and says Simba. I correct her and she starts hugging the movie and kissing Alex/Simba. You know what's coming next. I buy the movie and forget all about the safety locks. I swear I still have pregnant brain.

Little Miss Olivia was so excited and squealed the entire way home. She kept saying "wanna go watch it". So we get home and I put the movie on. She was in a trance. She was so into this movie I could hardly get her shoes off. It was getting late so I turned it off and decided she could watch more when her Dad gets home. About 30mins go by and she is still talking about it. We read two books and took a bath. Her Dad came home and we got ready for bed. She told him all about the movie and was kissing the case again so we went upstairs to our room and he plugged it in. She kept hugging her Dad and pointing to the TV with excitement. He was the hero for coming home and turning it back on of course. So she is loving on her Dad so much I start feeling a little left out. I lean over to get in on this and what to I get! Apparently I was interrupting her because she took her little hand and pushed me away and said "Mommy go night night"! I couldn't believe my eyes. She was so serious but I had to try again and same thing but this time she must have felt guilty cause she gave me a kiss then told me to go ni night.

Man...it starts so early.

I still have pregnancy brain also but now that I am not pregnant, I like to just call it baby brain. I attribute it to my lack of sleep! Already a Daddy's girl, bummer for you!
